What you write is uniquely yours- your writer’s voice

writing.pngWriters can write about the same topic – as frequently happens at writing groups, but each person will express themselves in their own way.

Writers use our own lived experiences when writing our fictions. We also integrate our passions, our fears and phobias, as well as our real life knowledge. Research can be added into the mix — nothing makes a fiction more believable than a few authentic facts. As writers we love to read and reading for research is not time-wasting, it counts as work.

Your writing will be infused with all the things that intrigue amuse or annoy you. Even better it’s quite unlikely that anyone else will share this exact same mix of experiences and items. So by honouring your passion and being authentic you write as yourself and no one else can do that.
